Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga for Health and Vibrancy

Iyengar Yoga promotes the health and vibrancy of the whole human system – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It is a safe method to practise, regardless of most health or age related concerns, as  poses can be modified for individual requirements. Simple props, such as blocks, bolsters, straps and wall ropes are used where appropriate.

Props are silent instructors that teach directly to the intelligence of the body, and through that direct perception the harmony of mind, body and spirit can be experienced.

Mary Dunn, Iyengar Yoga teacher, USA

Iyengar Yoga promotes awareness, evenness of extension and a sense of balance in the poses. It develops strength and flexibility in the body and brings calm and focus to the mind. Body and mind become more integrated, bringing peace and harmony within.

Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one’s being, from bodily health to self realization. Yoga means union – the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul. Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day to day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.

Nadine Eyre

“My fundamental belief is that we all start where we can. We delve deeper and work through physical limitations. Yoga works on a powerful deep level in the body, bringing flexibility and freedom.
And flexibility equals youthfulness”
